Ann Mercogliano joined INSIDE EDITION as a New York-based Correspondent in August 2015. Ann covers everything from breaking news to feature stories as well as in-depth investigations.

Most recently, Mercogliano’s work was recognized with a 2017 Clarion Award for her investigation which found that some hotels did not change bed sheets between guests. In July 2017, Mercogliano appeared on “The Dr. Oz Show” to discuss her investigation into chemical-free insect repellents. Mercogliano and the INSIDE EDITION team were also acknowledged in 2017 with a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Entertainment News Program.

Ann is a graduate of George Washington University in Washington, D.C. While attending GW, Ann served as an intern in The White House Office of Media Affairs. She also held an internship at ABC's “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” and WABC-TV in New York.

After graduation, Mercogliano pursued her dream of a career in journalism working on various assignment desks in New York City including WNBC-TV, WCBS-TV and NY1 News. She says she was thrilled to learn from the veteran assignment editors and reporters she had always looked up to. She tagged along in the field, asked a lot of questions and was thrilled to get sent to the occasional story or press conference.

Ann’s first reporting job brought her to Valdosta, GA, where she reported for the CBS affiliate WCTV, and eventually served as Bureau Chief. Mercogliano then went to WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, PA where she helped open the Lebanon County Bureau covering Lebanon and Lancaster counties. While there, Ann covered the three week murder trial of Michael Roseboro. She also covered the 2008 Presidential election.

In 2010, Ann returned home first working for News 12 Networks and then WNBC’s “New York Live” where she was sent to London to cover the Royal Wedding. Ann received an Emmy nomination for her stories in London. She also filled in on WNBC local news.  Most recently reporting for WCBS-TV and WPIX-TV 10pm News, Ann covered the Sandy Hook tragedy as well as Hurricanes Irene and Sandy and their devastating aftermath.

Ann resides in Manhattan with her husband and their baby daughter.
