A former assistant principal already charged with secretly videotaping a 14-year-old girl taking a shower now faces four additional counts involving more alleged victims, according to authorities.
New child porn charges were recently filed against Tim Clevenger, 50, who was first arrested two years ago by Alabama officers for allegedly taking video of a nude teen in the bathroom of his home.
Clevenger, then an administrator at Locust Fork High School in Blount County, Ala., stood outside the bathroom window and filmed through the slats of the window blinds, authorities said. The girl, who was visiting the home, did not know she was being videotaped, prosecutors said.
The incident happened in 2013, but wasn’t discovered until 2015 by school technicians who were servicing Clevenger’s work computer, authorities said.
As Clevenger’s trial began last week, investigators discovered additional footage on his school computer showing other young girls, according to a statement from Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey Wednesday.
"A review of the evidence that was submitted for forensic testing revealed additional videos and victims,” Casey said.
“We identified those victims and additional charges were brought against Clevenger. Two additional counts of production of child pornography and two additional counts of possession of child pornography were filed last week,” she said.
The alleged victims have not been identified because they are juveniles. His trial was postponed last week as Hurricane Irma churned toward the South. It was not clear when his next court appearance will be.
Clevenger was released Sunday on $200,000 bail. He had been an assistant principal at the school for 11 years and also served as a junior high coach for boys’ football and basketball, according to authorities.
